Cryo-Power Cryogenically Refrigerated Railcars

Historically a portion of the United States frozen food traffic has been transported in the United States by "cryogenic railcars".  The cryogenic railcars are primarily employed for the shipment of frozen French fries over long distances between the West Coast and points in the Eastern United States.

The cryogenic railcar is a large, insulated boxcar, which uses liquid carbon dioxide as a refrigerant. It has no moving parts and, as a consequence, is a system with a very low probability of failure.  The railcars, however, are limited to keeping frozen goods in an acceptable frozen state for a period not to exceed about seventeen days - an adequate time to move goods anywhere within the United States by a railroad.

 International Patents

Two of the principals within Cryo-Power Enterprises, LLC., developed a cryogenic system in which could be used for marine containers.  However, the criteria for a commercially acceptable marine container included the need to keep the frozen goods in an acceptable frozen state for a period of thirty days while not using an excessive amount of CO2. Such a period is necessary to accommodate the long transport times of ships moving between continents.

The company has successfully developed an extremely efficient, 30-day plus, cryogenic refrigeration system. The Cryo-Power marine cryogenic technology allows for extended shipping times of cargo at a minimal rate of CO2 consumption. This system is subject to certain patents encompassing the technology required to extend the economic duration of the shipping time. The patents have been issued, subject to a license agreement, by the United States Patent Office and have been registered in key countries of the world. Cryo-Power believes that the patents provide a significant barrier of entry to competition in the market.

Various sizes including 20' and 40' cryogenic containers have been used to transport frozen French fries, sliced potatoes, frozen crab, salmon, surimi, vegetables, chicken, beef, pork and ice cream for over five years. Such containers have been employed in shipping cargo from the U.S.A. to Japan and Korea, Europe, South America, Hawaii and other Asian ports.

WORLD WIDE JOINT SERVICE AGREEMENTS

To insure the seamless operational and service requirements of the world-wide shipment of cargo is maintained at the highest standard, Cryo-Power has agreed to jointly operate the Cryo-Power containers in Brazil.

GoCryo Brazil will be positioned to offer door to door freight rates for shippers of frozen cargo or directly lease equipment to shippers.
